Objective / Rules
- Complete the grid such that every row, every column, and every 3 x 3 block contains the numbers from 1 to 9.
- Sudoku is a game of logic, and no mathematics is required to solve the puzzles.
Read the help page on Daily Sudoku for the rules, and the techniques potentially required to solve BrainBashers Sudoku.
Notes
Keyboard Options
- If you are using a device without a physical keyboard, the on-screen keyboard is numeric (0 = auto-pencil marks).
- 'use default' ➞ use the default, non-numeric keyboard (0 ≠ auto-pencil marks).
- 'disable 0' ➞ disable the 0 for auto-pencil marks.
- 'add / remove' ➞ add / remove characters, entering the same character again will remove it (by removing all duplicates and sorting).
Pencil Marks
- Pencil marks are squares with more than one digit or letter.
- They are similar to those you might use with pen and paper.
- A square might contain more pencil marks than can be seen.
Usage (if supported by your device)
- a or 0 ➞ auto-place pencil marks.
- p ➞ show a pinned square.
- CTRL + arrows ➞ move around the grid.
- SHIFT + # ➞ highlight all squares with that number.
- SHIFT + 0 ➞ clear highlighted squares.
- 'squares with' ➞ highlight all squares with that number as a pencil mark.
Checking
- 'check' ➞ check for incorrect squares.
- 'show mistakes' ➞ highlight incorrect squares when the puzzle is checked.
- What is checked:
a single number that isn't the same as the answer,
squares with pencil marks are not checked.
Uniqueness
- This puzzle has exactly one correct answer.
- No guesses are required.
- Double-check alternative answers carefully, and then recheck the rules.
Printing
- Only BrainBashers Sudoku can be printed.
