How far do you have to travel to reach the North Pole, if you start from the equator and always head North West?

Hint: Can we reverse the journey?
Answer: This route is not possible.
If you could arrive at the North Pole whilst travelling North West, you could leave the North Pole travelling South East and reverse our journey.
However, you cannot leave the North Pole travelling South East (as everywhere is South), therefore you cannnot arrive whilst travelling North West.
You will simply spiral ever closer, and never get there.

Answer: The outside!
My brother, the local bus driver, was telling me that recently he was driving a bus full of people and no-one got off on the way.
However, at the end of the journey, there was not a single person left on the bus.

Hint: There is a trick in the question.
Everyone on the bus was married and therefore not single.
I went to visit my friend last week and he told me that each night he wakes up and gets out of bed at least 180 times.
However, he always sleeps for at least 7 hours at a time. How can this be explained?

Hint: Where he lives is very cold.
He lives and works at the South Pole, where, during Winter, the sun doesn't rise for six months at a time.
